Birthday Cake

males and females,
can both agree,
to celebrate,
with cake.

thankfully,
the cake is chosen,
for the celebrator.

and no bickering,
is required,
for this happy,
cake.

Shit Stain

In this life,
           we are in a bowl,
         of shit,

thriving to do better,
       we work ourselves,
    to death,

so that one day,
                when we are,
          finally flushed forever,

       we will,
    leave a mark,
for our company to notice.

Coming Full Circle

Its probably more of less me changing my schedules to a more night time routine, but living in Harrisburg you do not see too many.......

          Stars.

Being back home in central PA Tonight  I went outside and gazed at the stars for a while. Not overthinking it, just a spontaneous bare foot journey to my back yard with my ipod blaring Radioheads - Bodysnachers. As soon as my feet hit the grass i noticed the summer dew for forming . Not to slippy though, it was just enough to notice the grass was wet and contemplate whether or not to put shoes on. And Being 4 feet into my yard, with my momentum continuing forward, i decided against it..

Now after a few paces I found what appeared to be a good dry spot and looked upward... Naturally the first thing I noticed the big dipper much like i do in the Harrisburg... But as i glanced harder I found out that couldn't make out much more...

I initially thought it was light pollution, and looking toward my porch I was disappointed to find the light turned off.

I then glanced at the street lights surrounding my house and saw that there was a haze hanging over the area. I wouldn't expect it being so nice 66 degrees in the valley, but looking at temperatures around the area it should be around 70-72 right now. What i am seeing is proof that hot air rises.

Cool I thought not helping me see the stars, reaching down i realized Radiohead "Nude" came on and thought this would have been a neat song to look at the stars when going outside..

So i decided to give it a shot, gradually finding myself looking at the mist around street lights. Realizing the eerily stillness of a continuous yellow spectrum shining into water vapor i noticed out of the corer of my eye that two dark flashes blocked out the light from the reflecting vapor.

I immediately switched my attention glaring into the darkness of the surrounding trees. They came out again and spin around in the air doing a perfect circle together and zooming away into the shadows. BATS! I was immediately surprised not knowing whether to go inside or stay put. I decided to lay down quick so i would be out of their way. I regretted my decision as soon as my back hit the grass considering i was still in work cloths. But I'm here now and Radioheads "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi" just started.

To be honest it was probably the best change up in music for me at the moment, initially going outside to see stars for Radiohead "Nude" but now laying on the wet grass watching the bats eat to Radiohead "Weird Fishes/Arpeggi" completely somehow fit together wonderfully. Nice job on orchestrating this cd radiohead, i have to give you props.

I watched the bats continue to eat their fill realizing that bats are benefiting in this area due to global warming. Besides, we seem to get storms every other night so the bug population has to get under control somehow.

And being outside, I didn't notice any bugs about which is odd for this time of the year. I guess they've finally built up a big enough population to keep the bugs under control...

Random Thought:
Just gazing up at the stars it makes you wonder, this is what people did for entertainment before tv and radio. A hazy day like this is like getting bad reception on your tv and having to call the cable company to send out a truck.

Halfway through "All I Need" Radiohead I fast forward to "Faust Arp", then "The Recokoner", then stoping on "House of Cards". Too bad there isn't a 1800 movhaze number i could call. (or just change the setting on my ipod for weather.

I decided that while i did want to look at the stars I should continue my quest elsewhere because the ground isn't as dry as i initially thought. Getting up I decided to make a quick trip around my house to see if there was any other good spots to see the stars, avoiding the occasional bats along the way. I didn't have much luck, realizing that the only place to see stars at night would be on top of the mountain.

Coming full circle I again walked around past my doorstep because i could see slightly better now that my eyes adjusted slightly to the darkness. But standing on the cement where it was dry for a while and then going to the grass made a familiar situation pop back into my mind whether to put shoes on or not. And looking at my ipod the pieces fell in place and i decided to call it a night.

Williamsport Woodsman

Snow melts slowly north of I-80,

But the millionaires never cared,

choking on the arctic air,

They harvest natures beauty
